Today we are going to be talking about the Shield of Truth. What does it me to shield something? To protect it. So the shield of truth that Gods wants us to use, protects us from lies. Have you ever been lied to? It hurts, doesn’t it? So if we tell the truth, we will not hurt anyone.
We are going to make our own shield of truth. Hand out one shield per child. Have your sample on the wall.
On the top, I would like you to print your name. Wait until they print their name.
On this section (point to top left) I would like you to draw something that you like to do; play soccer, read, ride bike, etc. You may either explain each section now or wait until each section is finished.
On this section (point to top right) I would like you to draw your favorite subject in school. If it’s math, draw math symbols; science, draw planets; etc.
On this section, (point to bottom left), I would like you to draw a picture of your family
On the last section, (point to bottom right) I would like you to draw your favorite Bible story.
When they have 15 minutes left in the class, give them a 5-minute warning to finish.
Have them help you clean up the art supplies. The shields will be displayed in the stairwell until the end of the rotation. They may take them home then.
