Does anybody have any ideas for a movie we could use for a Palm Sunday rotation? I don't want a movie of all of Holy Week or of Easter -- we are specifically focusing on Palm Sunday this year. Probably a movie that lifts up the themes of Palm Sunday, not a video of the event itself.

This was asked recently somewhere else and I responded JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR.

It has an awesome Palm Sunday scene.
-Hosanna Hey
-Tell the Rabble to be quiet.
We showed it to our kids during Fellowship and they loved it.

I recently posted my entire OUTLINE with study questions to that movie at http://www.sundaysoftware.com/superstar.htm

I didn't get any replies in a timely manner, so I came up with my own idea. We have a number of Life of Jesus movies floating around, but nothing with a very significant Palm Sunday section, so I decided to use them all.

We made a comparison of the stories in all four gospels (i.e. Matthew has Jesus riding TWO animals, Luke mentions only cloaks not branches, John is the only one where palms are specifically mentioned and where they are waved, different accounts as to how the disciples found the donkey, Pharisees reactions, words said by the crowd, etc.) Then we watched about four clips to figure out which gospel account they look like.

(Also, for the youngest groups we just watched an Easter video)

It seems to be going well.

Lisa

P.S. I have a good, experienced teacher doing this lesson.
