Looking for suggestions on naming our well. Hadn't really thought of it till everyone starting calling it a wishing well... and I guess to break that we'll have to have some other catchy name besides "teh Gathering Well." To give you an idea of what we are talking about, the centerpiece for our gathering area is a 7 foot tall well- with a 4 ft wide base, roof, and bucket that really goes up and down. We gather at it each Sunday for SS and the collection money is dropped in the bucket.

Suggestions so far include "Mission Well" (because our collection goes to buying Bibles) or "Living Water Well" (too long?). What about Jacob's well?

Hoping someone here has an idea... thanks!

How about Wisdom Well? That's what we're calling our storytelling/Bible story room. We will have a tent up for the first part of the year (Old Testament stories), and will have a temple up for the New Testament stories. The well will remain constant throughout the year.

"Living water well" is one we'd discussed, and I think we may end back up there. Just hoping to find something catchy so that people are likely to actually use the name rather than the easy "wishing" well.

I did run across a name today that is interesting, but perhaps too hard?? What do you think? The well in Genesis 16:14 (where the Lord sends a message to Sarai's run-away, pregnant servant) is named "Beer Lahai Roi" -- which means "well of the Living One who sees me."

??

Ours is an "offering well". We have a large blue plastic bowl in it, with water so the coins splash when they are dropped in.
