JACOB AND ESAUSCRIPTURE PASSAGE Story: Genesis 25:19-34; 27:1-33:20 Key/Memory Verse: Genesis 28:16b PART ONE Genesis 25:19-34 Genesis 27:1-35 Genesis 27:41-43 PART TWO Genesis 29:15-30 Genesis 31:1-3 Genesis 32:3-7a, 22-30 Genesis 33:1-4 PART ONE It would seem to be most effective if the storyteller was a "third party." This could be someone who hung out with the clan, maybe a "servant." That way the person could tell everyone's story. It might be best to avoid having one of the main characters tell Part One because they might be asked "Why" they did something and we don't really know what they were thinking. A third party could just tell it like it happened. PART TWO It might be interesting to have Jacob tell the story. He could relate his growing understanding of the memory verse. It would be good to have the focus be on the wrestling with God. Jacob could sum up the whole story as times when he was always trying to wrestle with God. PARTS ONE AND TWO Scripts for the Part One and Part Two stories could be those developed for the Art Workshop. CONTRIBUTOR: Carol Hulbert |
