We have a great art original art lesson plan to share at http://www.fccpuyallup.com/ActivePages/Disciples%20Designs.htm

At the URL above you'll find the finished products of an art lesson plan that explains to youngsters that they are never too young to be chosen by God and part of God's plan. This original art lesson teaches kids that God looks in the heart to really see them!

Exchange Volunteer adds this quote from the above link:
quote:
In Disciples Designs Artist's Studio, the kids (and grownup kids) created self portraits which encompassed the memory verse from 1 Samuel 16:7  "For the Lord does not see as mortals see; they look on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.  (NRSV)"  Each artist's work shows the way they see themselves on the outside, then small mirrors were glued over their hearts because that's how GOD sees them!
There is a photo of the finished product at the web site.

Can you explain a little more about the mirror placed over the heart on the self portraits? Is the idea that our hearts are to reflect God and His character? I'm just having a little trouble understanding how to relate to the kids how the mirrors show how God sees them.
